Special Equipment

 

For some Runs the Leader may require that participants have equipment in addition to the standard Required Equipment and in addition to the  Equipment needed for the Difficulty Rating  of the Run.  If a leader has a compelling reason for requiring Special Equipment, he/she may post that requirement on the Run Announcement.

 

Run Leaders should have strong reasons for requiring Special Equipment. 
If Special Equipment is required it must be specified in the Run Announcement.

 

Examples of Special Equipment:

·       Because a Run is very remote, with a likelihood that participants might be separated by a long distance, a Run Leader might require that all participants have HAM radios in their vehicles.

·       Because of very difficult terrain a Run Leader might require all vehicles to have 35” Tires.

·       A Run Leader might require that all vehicles have a winch.

·       Because of long distances between fuel availability the Run Leader might require all vehicles to carry extra fuel.
