Directions to Truckhaven:
From South San Diego and East County:
Take I8 to Hwy 67. Take Hwy 67 to Ramona. From Ramona take Hwy 78 to Santa Ysabel. From Santa Ysabel take Hwy 79 North toward Warner Springs for about 10 miles to Hwy S2. Take S2 (San Felipe Rd.) about 4 miles to Montezuma Valley Rd.. Continue on Montezuma Valley Rd (S22) through Borrego Springs, past Christmas Circle and head toward Salton City. Truckhaven is about 20-25 miles east of Borrego Springs on S22. It is north of S22 and west of Hwy 86.
From North San Diego County:
Take Hwy 76 east, past Lake Henshaw. Turn north of Hwy 79 about 4 miles to S2 (San Felipe Rd.) . Then take S2 about 4 miles to Montezuma Valley Rd. Continue on Montezuma Valley Rd (S22) through Borrego Springs, past Christmas Circle and head toward Salton City. Truckhaven is about 20 miles east of Borrego Springs. It is north of S22 and west of Hwy 86.
At Truckhaven the JustRuns Group usually camps on the bluff above Palm Wash. Our favorite spot is a couple hundred yards north of Hwy S22, 1.2 miles east of the microwave tower and approximately 6 miles west of Hwy 86 at N33 16.752 W116 03.681.
