From Julian
Take Hwy 78 down Banner Grade to Hwy S2 then right (south) on S2 about 4 -5 miles. Just south of Stage Coach Campground turn left (east) on dirt trail. Pinyon Mountain Trail.

Caution:
This trail will lead to very remote areas. Be sure to have adequate water and do not travel with a single vehicle. People have died of thirst and exposure in this area because of breakdowns.
