Leading a Run is simple.  It is best if you have done the trail before but if not that is OK too.  Get as much information about the trail as you can.

Before starting the Run, hold a brief Driver's Meeting.  Let everyone know the Radio Channel that will be used on the trail.  Remind everyone to learn the name of the driver ahead and behind them and ask them to try to stay in the same order along the trail.  Remind everyone that it is the person behind's responsibility to try to keep up and to let the person ahead know if they need to slow down or stop.  It is the person ahead's responsibility to wait at turns to let the person behind see where the turn is.  It is everyone's responsibility to let the group know if they are having trouble.

It is the Leader's responsibility to do his/her best to make sure everyone participates safely.  If a participant gets in trouble make sure he/she gets help.  If a participant decides to leave the Group, and needs a guide or escort, make arrangements with other participants to insure that they reach safety.  Do not leave a participant on the trail.  If necessary to leave a broken vehicle on the trail, see that the occupants are given a ride to safety.

After the Run, the leader should post a brief "Run Report" giving the highlights of the Run.
